Compared to the last sale two weeks ago, steer trade was very uneven. Some middle weight classes, 500-650 lbs showed some real strength and traded steady to 5.00 higher, other weights sold 4.00 to 8.00 lower. Heifers under 600 lbs sold steady to 5.00 higher, heavier weights steady to 3.00 lower. Slaughter cows unevenly steady. The coronavirus continues to disrupt the cattle industry with a big break in the futures market so far this week. The beef sector's strong fundamentals have been no match for the managed money that currently controls futures contracts. Supply light, demand mostly moderate.
