Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to the sharp decline two weeks ago, feeder steers steady to 3.00 higher. Feeder heifers 5.00-10.00 higher. Slaughter cows 2.00-4.00 lower. Demand moderate to good. Supply light. Small numbers but pretty good sale given the times with live and feeder contracts down the limit Wednesday and most everyone expecting that drastically reduced restaurant trade, economic contraction and rising unemployment will be a sour combination for beef demand in the weeks ahead. We should begin to get some clarity shortly on what beef movement actually looks like in our new normal. Hopefully it is some better than what the board currently has dialed up.
