Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last Wednesday, feeder steers under 650 lbs steady to 2.00 lower, over 650 lbs 3.00-5.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 550 lbs 2.00-5.00 lower, over 550 lbs steady to firm. Slaughter cows 1.00-2.00 lower. Cattle futures have gained quite a bit of ground over the last week with the next move being anyone's guess. Friday's on feed report will show the fourth consecutive month of lower feedlot placements while recent slaughter volume and carcass weights may be starting to point to a loss of currentness. Plenty warm around here to move cattle with several producers opting to wait a week.
