Coordinated by Show Me Select Board with University Extension, Commercial Agriculture Program, MU College of Veterinary Medicine, Missouri Cattlemen Association and Missouri Dept of Agriculture. Heifers in this sale have met minimum standards for reproductive soundness, pelvic size, frame size, muscle thickness, body condition, and weight. They have undergone a comprehensive health program, and are guaranteed bred with a percentage fetal sexed. All heifers are expected to calve from late August to early November. Heifers were graded and sorted into uniform lots according to projected calving dates and body type similarity. Supply consisted of 136 bred heifers from 7 producers in 50 lots selling to 14 different buyers, with a sale average of $1973.00 per head. There were 5 head of Tier 2-AI bred heifers, with an average sale price of $2370.00; 4 head Tier 2 natural service heifers, with an average price of $1906.00; 85 head Tier 1-AI bred heifers, with an average price $1929.00; 44 Tier 1 natural service heifers, with an average price $2016.00. All 90 AI bred heifers averaged $1954.00 per head and 48 natural service heifers averaged $2007.00 per head.
