Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves under 700 lbs. were steady to 6.00 higher. Feeder steers and heifers over 700 lbs. were steady to 2.00 higher. Demand was good on a light supply of calves and a moderate supply of yearlings. The largest draft of the day was 280 head of 927 lb. steers which brought 240.75. One stick-out draft was 59 head of 873 lb. steers that sold for 252.50. Receipts continue to run lighter than normal as hay harvest is in full swing. Fewer peewee calves and stockers were in the offering as most have already found a home for the summer, however yearling numbers continue to rise as is common at ORS for this time of the year.
