Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves under 700 lbs. sold 4.00-8.00 higher with spots 15.00 higher. Heavier weight feeders sold steady to 2.00 higher. Demand was very good on a heavy supply. Quality was above average with several large drafts of long-timed weaned and vaccinated black-hided calves, presented in pot-load or multi-load packages. One stick-out draft was 137 head of 554 lb. steers that brought 278.00/cwt. The USDA's Cattle on Feed Report released last week had Inventories 3 percent lower, Placements 4 percent lower and Marketings 10 percent lower than a year ago.
