Compared to last week, slaughter cows were 3.00-5.00 lower and slaughter bulls were 1.00-2.00 lower. Demand was good on a moderate supply of replacement cattle, and moderate on a light supply of slaughter animals. The top slaughter bull brought 233.00/cwt. while the top slaughter cow brought 180.00/cwt. The top bred cow sold for 3350.00/head and the top pair sold for 4450.00/pair. Drought conditions are bringing more cattle to the sale barns with most packing facilities starting to see a surplus of slaughter animals.
