Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Demand was good on a light supply. The top slaughter bull brought 212.00/cwt. while the top slaughter cow brought 175.00/cwt. The top cow/calf pair brought 3900.00/pair while the top bred cows brought 3250.00/head. The supply was lighter than normal as many returned to harvesting hay following the weekend rains. Pasture conditions going into the first of July are better than average with soil moisture not a problem so far this summer.
