As filed

Compared to the last sale two weeks ago, steers sold 6.00 to 12.00 higher, with a few instances sharply higher, mostly on 600-650 lb steers. Heifers of all weights took a big advance, showing spots as much as 20.00 higher. Slaughter cows steady to 2.00 higher. It's still all systems go for the cattle sector with fat cattle trade advancing sharply, futures contracts seeing new highs and cash feeder trade continuing to tack on big money week to week. Big jumps in the market have lost the shock value they once carried as we have entered into some uncharted territory with historically tight cattle numbers. Several stick out prices were reached throughout the day, including a load of 716 lb steers at 226.50/cwt and their 702 lb sisters ringing the bell at 210.50/cwt. Supply light to moderate, demand very good.
