Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold 5.00 to 10.00 lower with the full loss mostly on 6 weight cattle. Slaughter cows 4.00 to 5.00 lower. Really good quality all day long with plenty of flesh on a high percentage of the offering. Grains continued their climb Thursday with corn contracts gaining another dime. The resulting runaway feed costs have certainly been the #1 cash feeder cattle market detractor this week, but some winter weather moving into the area didn't help the cause either. Supply heavy, demand moderate.
