Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to the last sale two weeks ago, steers and heifers sold unevenly steady, with some steers as much as 4.00 higher and heifers mostly 3.00 to 4.00 lower. Slaughter cows steady. Pretty light receipts this week but some good quality and condition on offer. Not too much optimism around the ring, given another down day for cattle futures and packers bidding 100.00 for fats, but the local cash trade didn't necessarily reflect that with some real competition emerging for steers from 675-725 lbs. Supply light and demand moderate.
