A pretty even mix of both calves and yearlings were offered as several new crop calves are staring to make their way to town. Supply and demand were moderate. Cattle futures have been trading within the same range the last few weeks with little new information to move the market. Carcass weights continue to be well above the 5 year average as cattle feeders are still dealing with the effects of the spring backlog. Boxed beef has trended lower but packers margins are still well in the black. Slaughter cows sold 2.00-4.00 lower compared to two weeks ago.
