Compared to last week, a light test of steers and heifers sold with a steady undertone. Demand was moderate for a light supply. Several un-weaned or short weaned calves were offered carrying some fill and flesh and then some thin yearling cattle were on hand as well for a summer type run. Cattle futures have traded sideways this week with little new information on hand other than the expected drop of boxed beef prices as the weekly slaughter has begun to approach a close to normal level. Slaughter cows and bulls sold firm to 2.00 higher.
