Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to 5.00 higher except 350-450 lb heifers trading 10.00 higher. Steer calves weighing 400-500 lbs didn't quite reach the top end prices to match last week, but the hard weaned calves in that weight range are pretty well gone by now and the fleshier, shorter weaned calves aren't pursued as aggressively. Trade was active and demand was very good with the run mostly consisting of new crop calves, but a few thin yearlings were still in the mix. Supply was moderate. Slaughter cows sold mixed, as lean and boning cows sold steady and fat cows sold 2.00-4.00 higher.
