Compared to the last auction two weeks ago, steers calves weighing 450-600 lbs sold steady to spots 3.00 lower on the 450-500 lb steers, 600-650 lbs sold 3.00-5.00 lower, with the 650-700 lb steers trading steady to 4.00 higher, 700-750 lbs sold sold steady to firm, with 750-800 lbs trading with a higher undertone over 800 lbs were not tested. Feeder heifers on a much lighter test weighing 450-650 lbs sold mostly 4.00-8.00 lower on comparable sales with the most decline on the 600-650 lb heifers. Demand was good with supply moderate. A very active market on the steers with a very nice quality offering of steers weighing 450-800 lbs and best demand on steers weighing 550-750 lbs. Slaughter cows on a very light offering sold mostly steady. It was turn around Tuesday for the markets as CME cattle futures caught a break and closed with triple-digit gains and the Stock Market had a good day after Monday's wreck gaining over 1100 points giving support to the market.
