Compared to last week, steers and heifers under 700 lbs sold 5.00-15.00 lower with spots 20.00-25.00 lower on steer calves under 450 lbs while a load of yearling heifers sold steady. The yearling steers were too lightly tested for a trend but sold with a weak to lower undertone. Supply and demand were moderate. Cattle futures were sharply lower at the end of last week, leading to a more cautious approach from buyers. Also, the majority of the offering consisted of calves carrying some flesh with some weaned and some not. Slaughter cows sold steady, bulls mostly 5.00 lower.
