Compared to two weeks ago, steer calves under 550 lbs traded steady while a nice offering of mid-weight steers weighing from 550-765 lbs sold 5.00-10.00 higher with spots up to 13.00 higher on the 7 weights. A load of heavier steers weighing 823 lbs traded steady. Heifers under 700 lbs sold 3.00-10.00 higher with the full advance on those weighing 525-700 lbs, heavier weights steady. Demand was good for a moderate supply of yearlings and weaned calves with several load lots in the offering. Corn was sharply lower on Tuesday which benefited the feeder cattle market, allowing buyers to push prices to some impressive levels. Slaughter cows sold uneven with the majority of cows 3.00-5.00 lower, however lean cows sold steady and a few of the higher dressing cows traded firm to a few dollars higher. Slaughter bulls sold 2.00-5.00 lower.
