Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers under 650 lbs steady to 4.00 lower, over 650 lbs fully steady. Feeder heifers under 450 lbs 2.00-4.00 lower, over 450 lbs 2.00-6.00 higher. Slaughter cows 7.00-8.00 lower. Demand moderate to good. Supply moderate. The cattle market continues to look good with weakness in some of the lighter cattle likely related to the heat in the extended forecast. Fed cattle demand has been impressive the past couple of weeks with cutout values surprisingly resilient despite an aggressive slaughter pace. Slaughter cows have retreated big time over the past week with movement in drought areas currently overwhelming the market.
