Compared to the sale two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers under 500 lbs steady to 2.00 lower, over 500 lbs steady to 3.00 higher. Slaughter cows steady. Demand moderate to good. Supply moderate. The direction of the cattle market is a little hard to figure out with cutout values dropping while the higher futures trade in recent days may hold this weeks fed cattle trade at least steady. The current nice weather is likely helping the calf trade although the calendar says we are right around the corner from tougher marketing days on the bawling calves.
