Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers and heifers steady to 2.00 higher. Slaughter cows steady to 2.00 higher. Demand moderate to good. Supply light. Best demand for the lighter cattle that have better chance of seeing stronger days in the market while the feedlot bound offerings are a tougher sell with the October live contract currently at 95.50. Slaughter pace has slowed to a crawl with a few plants down temporarily and labor shortages in others which seems likely to bring yet another round of weak fed cattle demand combined with soaring beef cutout values.
