Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to the auction from two weeks ago, the trend for most weights of steers and heifers was steady to firm, although yearling heifers traded with a sharply higher undertone. A part load of 734 lb yearling heifers from a long time reputation backgrounder gaveled out at 344.75 ! Pastures and crops look in great shape for the end of July as the area continues to get plenty of rain. Demand remains very good and the supply was moderate considering mid-summer is normally the slowest time of the year.
