Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to the auction from two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers traded with a firm to higher undertone on a light test. Farmer demand for calves seems good as an abundance of hay, silage, and pasture exists around the area. The grain harvest however is off to a slow start, and forecast for more rain could become very problematic for combines this fall. Demand good and supply light.
