Compared to the last special two weeks ago, feeder steers weighing 500-600 lbs sold 4.00-8.00 lower, with 600-700 lb steers selling steady to 4.00 lower, steers over 700 lbs sold with a lower undertone on a light test. Feeder heifers weighing 400-450 lbs sold mostly steady on a light test, 500-600 lbs sold 4.00-8.00 lower, 600-700 lbs sold mostly steady on comparable weights, over 700 lbs were not well tested. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady to spots 2.00 lower on the high dressing cows. Demand was moderate to good with supply moderate. A good quality offering of calves weighing 500-700 lbs sold with good demand despite lower market conditions this week. The Stock Market plunged near 3500 points this week over the fear that coronavirius hysteria will prompt global slowdown or possible recession. This caused CME cattle futures to sell-off this week with sharp triple-digit losses pressuring feeder cattle markets.
