Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves under 600 lbs traded mostly 5.00-10.00 lower, with 6 and 7 weight steers not well tested on limited comparisons and were mostly calves, over 800 lb feeder steers were not tested with last week's scarce offering over 800 lbs. Pot load of heifers weighing 628 lbs sold 4.00 lower than last weeks pot load with 650-700 lb feeder heifers selling unevenly steady. Demand was moderate to good, best on the pot loads of feeder steers over 800 lbs with pot load weighing 846 lbs at 339.50, pot load 874 lbs at 339.75 and pot load of crossbreds weighing 888 lbs at 334.50. Overall the market held up well after last week's steep sell-off in CME Cattle futures and lower fed cattle market. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady with the bulk average to low dressing cows.
