Compared to last week, steer calves weighing 400-650 lbs sold fully steady to firm, with instances 10.00-12.00 higher on the strings and big groups of 5 weight steers, 650-750 lb steers sold with a firm to higher undertone on limited comparisons and three pot loads of steers weighing 763 to 915 lbs sold 3.00-6.00 higher than last week's loads. Heifer calves weighing 400-600 lbs all sold fully steady to firm, with instances 10.00 higher on the 450-500 lb heifers, over 600 lbs were lightly tested. Demand was very good with supply moderate as overall quality ran pretty deep on the calves and yearlings. Lots of strings and groups of calves weighing 450-650 lbs especially on 5 weight steers all sold on a very active market. Stick out sales included pot load 93 hd of 502 lb steers at 559.00; 65 hd 660 lb steers at 439.00; 62 hd 883 lb steers at 366.10 and 57 hd of steers weighing 914 lbs at 359.35 with 2nd week in a row of fed cattle market hitting new highs and reaching 260.00. Slaughter cows sold 3.00-7.00 higher.
