Compared to last week, steer calves under 650 lbs sold mostly steady with the 400-450 lb steer calves selling with a higher undertone, yearling steers over 650 lbs sold with a steady to firm undertone on a limited test. Heifer calves under 700 lbs sold near steady on comparable sales with heifers over 750 lbs trading with a firm undertone on a light test. Demand was good on a moderate offering. Lot of new crop calves showing up on Monday's sale with several offerings of unweaned and short weaned calves in some cases one round of shots and many carrying a little more flesh, but overall still were met with good demand just not reaching some of the highs we have seen lately mostly on the 450-600 lb steers and heifers. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm on a large offering of mostly boning and lean cows.
