Compared to last week, a light test of 400-500 lbs steer calves sold with a lower undertone, 500-700 lb steers traded steady, 700-750 lbs were lightly tested with the 750-800 lbs were not well tested but sold with a firm to higher undertone. Feeder heifers weighing 400-650 lbs traded mostly steady on comparable sales. Demand was good on the long timed weaned calves and yearlings with supply moderate. Overall the quality was not as deep as it was last week on the calves under 600 lbs, especially the light weight steer calves under 500 lbs, lot more new crop calves in the offering along with unweaned/short weaned calves that all sold with moderate demand. Several stick-out sales of yearlings with a pot load of 771 lb steers at 271.50, pot load steers weighing 794 lbs at 258.50, 40 head of steers with good weighing conditions weighing 624 lbs at 331.00 and a pot load of heifers weighing 647 lbs at 264.50. Slaughter cows sold 5.00-7.00 higher.
