Compared to last week, steers calves weighing 400-500 lbs sold 8.00-10.00 higher, with 500-700 lbs selling mostly 4.00-8.00 higher, 800-850 lbs sold steady to firm, with 3 pot loads of yearlings steers weighing over 850 lbs selling with a higher undertone. Feeder heifers weighing under 650 lbs sold 3.00-6.00 higher, with 4 pot loads of yearling heifers weighing 650-720 lbs selling with a higher undertone. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm. Good demand on a moderate to heavy supply of calves and yearlings. The load lots of yearling steers and heifers sold with good demand with active bidding on and active market. CME cattle futures were lower to start the week as were the equity markets also having a rough day, but feeder cattle found willing buyers on and active market despite negative outside markets.
