Compared to last week, feeder steers weighing 450-600 lbs and 700-750 lbs sold mostly 10.00-12.00 lower, with 6 weight steers on a light test selling with a lower undertone, 800-850 lb sold 4.00-5.00 lower. Feeder heifers weighing 400-600 lbs sold 4.00-6.00 lower on a few comparable sales with last week, with over 600 lbs trading with a lower undertone on few comparisons. Slaughter cows traded mostly steady with last week. Demand was moderate on a moderate offering. Bulk of the feeder cattle were steers weighing 500-850 lbs with overall quality good and several pot loads of yearlings in the offering. The start of a new week wrecked havoc as the Stock Market suffered its worst one day losses on record dropping over 2000 points as coronavirus fears spread and oil prices took a nose dive. CME cattle futures had a free-fall as well with Feeder Cattle futures trading with limit losses all pressuring the feeder cattle market.
