Compared to two weeks ago, the best test was on 500-650 lb steers and heifers weighing 500-600 lbs selling mostly 10.00-12.00 lower, with a light test of 650-700 lb steers trading 3.00-4.00 lower and a pot load of heifers weighing 705 lbs of the same consignment from two weeks ago sold near 4.00 lower, all other weights were lightly tested and sold with a lower undertone. Slaughter cows sold steady. Demand and supply was moderate. Fed cattle trade shows no sign of a bottom with prices falling below the 100.00 per cwt level. Sharp losses continued on the CME cattle futures on Monday leaving cattle buyers with a very subdued temperment to buy feeder cattle.
