Compared to last week, steer calves weighing 400-500 lbs sold firm to 5.00 higher, with 500-650 lb steers selling steady to firm and 650-750 lb trading with a firm undertone on a light test. Feeder heifers weighing 450-650 lbs sold steady to 3.00 higher over 650 lbs were lightly tested. Slaughter cows sold steady. Demand was moderate to good with supply moderate. A nice offering of steer and heifer calves weighing mostly 450-650 lbs sold on and active market. CME cattle futures had solid gains to start the week as buying activity moved into the cattle complex.
