Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to the sale two weeks ago; steers 400-450 lbs mostly 8.00 to sharply higher, 500-550 lbs 13.00 to sharply higher, 600 lbs 4.00-9.00 higher. Yearling steers 800 lbs 7.00 higher, 850 lbs 4.00 higher. Heifers 450 lbs 13.00-16.00 higher, 500 lbs 3.00 higher. Too light a test on yearling heifers. Many load lots of yearling steers, along with plenty of smaller strings in the offering. Quality unweaned calves in many consignments did not see a discount, as light cattle are getting scarce. Demand was good throughout the sale, especially on featured load lot consignments.
