Grass fever has begun. Demand was strong on #2 thiner flesh calves this week, steers and heifers selling $15.00-$20.00 higher. On the #1 fleshier type calves, steers under 400lb sold $10.00-$15.00 higher, while steers 400lb-600lb sold unevenly, selling $4.00 lower to $10.00 higher. Heifers selling mostly steady to $10.00 higher. Mostly plainer offering this week on feeders compared to last week. Slaughter cattle sold mostly steady $5.00 higher.
