Comped to the last sale on 01/08-10/25: Steers sold 3.00-5.00 lower. Heifers steady to 5.00 higher. Demand moderate to good. Steer prices backed off from the sharply higher, first of the year, market. Cattle futures soared higher this week as speculators continue to pour money to the cattle complex. Negotiated slaughter cattle trade was limited as feeders looked for more money and packers resisted the surge. Much of the country saw some sort of freezing precipitation this week but temps looking to move back to some sort of normalcy. Supply included 7% from North Central, 2% West, 74% South Central, less than 1% North East and 17% from the South East. Current delivery is 14 days from the last day of the video and is up to and including February 06, 2025. Deliveries are Current thru September 2025.
