Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week: Not enough comparable trades to test trends. Feeder heifers not established. Demand is moderate to good. After yesterday's sharp decline in the cattle futures, the upward momentum has slowed some. The fact remains, though, numbers continue to run light, and a record-setting market has had producers pulling cattle forward.

Source: USDA AMS · Oklahoma City, OK. Prices are as filed, F.O.B. at origin, with the buyer taking freight — they are not comparable to a spot ring price and never enter a barn average. Weights are USDA’s estimates — these cattle had not been weighed when they sold. Delivery months differ between lots; a price for one month is not a price for another. Head is summed from the lots as reported.
