The Northern Livestock Video Auction held their 29th annual Diamond Ring Ranch Sale today with 53,000 head on offer. Demand was very good throughout the day and improved as the sale progressed. Offerings were moderate. Demand for all classes of cattle as very good with many takers actively bidding on offerings. Market activity was active with a large crowd on hand bidding both ringside as well as over the internet. Very good demand was seen for all cattle suitable to develop into yearlings. Demand for replacement heifers was very good, with many sets outselling there steer mates. PO rates were very low today as ranchers and backgrounders sold cattle at historical all time high prices. Value added and NHTC consignments sold on very good demand with most consignments offering strong premiums to conventional offerings. Value added cattle are cattle enrolled in two or more 3rd party verified programs, otherwise cattle are tagged with the program in which they are enrolled. Demand for bred cattle was moderate to good.
