Northern Livestock video auction held the Annual Summertime classic Sale over the past four days and demand for all feeder cattle was good to very good for heavy offerings. Spring born calves and yearlings both sold with very good demand. This sale was the largest sale in the 21-year history of Northern video eclipsing last years' record breaking offering by nearly 20K head. Buyers were active throughout the 4-day sale as they bid actively on all classes of feeders. Light weight calves, suitable to develop into yearlings sold on very good demand as yearlings continue to bring top dollar. Weaned cattle were left untagged. Most of the unweaned offerings sold in November and December. The percentage of PO's was light this sale as historically high prices were seen. Very good demand was seen for Value Added cattle that were 3rd party verified. Cattle tagged as Value added were enrolled in two or more programs and had to be verified by a 3rd party. The largest premiums given were for cattle sold as All Natural, NHTC and GAP combined. Market activity was very active throughout the sale. Current deliveries are cattle that will deliver up to 14 days from the last sale day, up to and including August 8, 2024.
