The Northern Livestock Video Auction held their 28th annual Diamond Ring Ranch Sale on January 8th, 2024 with near 47,000 head on offer. Trade activity was active with a large crow on hand bidding both ringside as well as over the internet. Demand was moderate to good for both early and late delivered heavy weight cattle and very good for late delivered cattle suitable to run on grass. Value added consignments sold on very good demand throughout the sale. Value added cattle are cattle enrolled in two or more 3rd party verified programs, otherwise cattle are tagged with the program in which they are enrolled. A noticeable premium was seen for strictly NHTC cattle this sale as several buyers pushed to own these offerings. Demand for replacement heifers was very good as ranchers continue to rebuild their heard following the drought and last years poor breed up. Demand for bred cattle was good to very good.
