Northern Livestock video auction held the Annual Summertime classic Sale over the past four days and demand for all feeder cattle was very good for heavy offerings. Spring born calves and yearlings both sold with very good demand. This sale was the largest sale in the 20 year history of Northern video. Buyers were active throughtout the 4 day sale as they bid activly on all classes of feeders. Very good demand was seen for the sales light run of heifers. Many sets were purchased to enter breeding programs across the country. Light weight calves, suitable to develop into yearlings sold on very good demand as yearling prices are at an all time high. Weaned cattle were left untagged. Most of these offerings sold in November and December. The percentage of PO's was light this sale as historically high prices were seen. Very good demand was seen for Value Added cattle that were 3rd party verified. Cattle tagged as Value added were enrolled in two or more programs and had to be verified by a 3rd party. The largest premiums given were for cattle sold as All Natural, NHTC and GAP combined. Market activity was very active throughout the sale.
