Compared to last week slaughter and feeding cows sold 4.00 to 7.00 lower and slaughter bulls sold 10.00 lower. No test of calves or feeder cattle. Demand was moderate to good for slaughter cattle with several buyers and some internet action at both reporting auctions. Appears that quite a few older and thinner cows will head to town as most of the state is very brown and dry. Some areas with fires last week might have to ship a few cows to town too. Some rain showers in Eastern areas of the state has brighten moods that it can rain but a lot more is needed to recover from the dry conditions. Hay tonnage is pretty much normal as irrigation is in full swing.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
