Compared to last week steers under 600 lbs sold 15.00 to 20.00 higher. From 600 to 800 lbs sold 8.00 to 10.00 higher. Heifers sold 4.00 to 8.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold 3.00 to 4.00 higher with lean cows trading 7.00 higher. Bulls sold steady. Demand was good for all classes of livestock. Quite a few of the slaughter cows went to feed or to become rebreeds. Warmer temperatures across the region have helped livestock and livestock owners take a breather from the artic weather the previous two weeks. Quite a lot of bales of hay still to be sold. Not as many cows in the state has really pulled hay prices down and taken the demand off the hay. Plus, most surrounding state had ample rain so they all produced quite a few tons of market ready forage.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Wyoming barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
