Compared to last week steer calves sold steady. Heifer calves under 600 lbs sold 1.00 to 5.00 higher. Yearling steers and heifers were lightly tested but a steady market was noticed. Demand was good for calves and yearlings. Most buyers continued to seek out calves with at least two rounds of vaccinations. With range conditions dry, the price of hay over 200.00 per ton, and short water supply some longtime ranchers decided to liquidate years of genetic building of their cow herds at area auctions. The liquidating appears it will continue as area auction market continue to list dispersals on weekly sale listings. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Wyoming barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
