Compared to last week steer calves under 600 lbs traded 2.00 to 3.00 higher except for fly weight steers which sold 3.00 lower. Steers over 600 lbs traded steady to 2.00 lower. Heifer calves under 550 lbs traded steady to 2.00 higher with few instances 4.00 higher with all other weights of heifers steady on the week. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady. No recent comparison for bred heifers and cows. Despite the cold weather and limited feed resources demand for bred livestock was moderate to good. Good demand was noted for calves and feeders. Arctic temperatures blasted the trade area and Torrington Livestock cancelled there Friday sale to aid in the safety of their employees, buyers and livestock.
