Compared to last week: Few comparable sales of feeder steers 6.00 to 8.00 lower, heifers not well compared. Moderate demand for yearling steers and heifers this week as the CME cattle complex moved lower again. Cash fed cattle were drug down by the bearish tone of the futures, down to 228.00. Cattle feeders are back to playing defense as they struggle with a fat cattle market that keeps getting hit with unfriendly news. The feeder market is under pressure as cattle feeders are left reeling trying to find cattle that can breakeven with these projected fat cattle prices on the board.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the South Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
