Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 5.00 to 10.00 lower, instances of 15.00 to 20.00 lower. Good demand yet for steers and heifers but there is a lot of uncertainty in the marketplace currently, and that led to a lower feeder cattle market. Cash fed cattle have slipped down to 235.00-237.00, which is the opposite direction cattle feeders were expecting this spring as they have historically seen the market make it's yearly high in the spring. With the outside market pressure as well, cattle feeders were determined to buy cattle lower.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the South Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
