Compared to last week: Feeder steers mostly steady, heifers sold with steady to lower undertones. Good demand for these yearlings, especially those that are coming right off grass, however with the CME Live and Feeder Cattle futures so much lower than the cash markets, that weakness is spilling over into the feeder market. Cattle feeders had to accept lower money to get cattle sold, all the way down to 180.00. This is a steep reversal from what took place all spring and summer long and is shattering the confidence of cattle producers. Cattle producers from the driest regions are sending yearlings to town but other areas aren't feeling the pressure yet. Slaughter cows steady to 1.00 lower, bulls 2.00 lower.
