Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers steady to 3.00 higher in a narrow test. Feeder cattle offerings much reduced this week as severely cold weather set back in again with temps falling to the teens below zero along with blowing snow late week making country roads difficult to travel, along with some locations that traditionally do not host a sale this week due to the Black Hills Stock Show running. Demand was good, for all weights, as there was new life breathed into the cattle futures contracts as the annual cattle inventory report showed lower supplies of feeder cattle and cows. Larger auction receipts expected next week as the weather moderates. Slaughter cows steady to 3.00 higher, bulls too few to test.
