Only one reported auction this holiday shortened week as other auction locations did not host a feeder cattle auction. Good demand for calves, very good demand for yearlings. The cash fed cattle market has lent great support to the feeder cattle market, specifically the yearlings, as it continues to rise. Top fat sales this week occurred on Wednesday at 140.00 live basis. Calf offerings in East River have been limited this fall as the weather has been mild which has allowed producers to leave their cows kicked out and grazing corn stalk fields. Traditionally calf offerings increase after Thanksgiving East River. Slaughter cows steady to 1.00 higher, bulls too lightly tested.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the South Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
