Compared to last week: Feeder steers 8.00-15.00 higher. Feeder heifers 5.00-12.00 higher. Stocker steers and steer calves 10.00-20.00 higher. Stocker heifers and heifer calves 3.00-8.00 higher. Demand extremely good for all classes as the market seemed at times open ended to the top side. The Ides of March is upon us, thus cattle need to be off wheat to harvest. Knowing this, numbers were fairly light and lending to the fact we are seeing those lighter numbers. March has come in like a Lion as strong winds are blowing across the plains. 70-80 mile an hour winds expect from the Texas Panhandle across the state of Oklahoma today and humidity dropping to desert-like lows. Any moisture that fell last week will quickly be zapped out of the ground today. Slaughter cow numbers continue limited as well but demand has been moderate as prices slowly begin to rise again. Slaughter cows sold steady to 5.00 higher. Slaughter bulls 4.00-5.00 higher. Demand remains good for replacement cows and pairs.
