Compared to last week: Feeder cattle and calves not well tested this week. Most all sales either canceled or had very light receipts. Strong winter storm moved in early Tuesday morning bringing sleet and snow as well as record breaking low temperatures. Travel was difficult but just being outside was rough as well. We will be making it to the top of the roller coaster by Monday when temps are expected to reach near 70. The weather has also been tough for cattle as gains have gone backward and it will take a bit to get it back. The Bears continue to have a hold on the cattle complex as cattle futures dipped back into the red. Cash slaughter cattle trade has been limited so far and is showing signs of trading lower. Slaughter cows and bulls also not well tested for the week.
